Familiarity of Iranian M.A. Translation Students with ICT Tools

Familiarity with information and communication technology (ICT) is of great importance to the translation students because it allows make use a wide range ICT tools. The present study investigated degree students’ familiarity tools employed support related activities included in translator’s workstation. To do this, questionnaire encompassing 24 questions was designed on basis proposed by Fulford Granell-Zafar (2005), including search retrieval, communications, marketing work procurement. results indicated high M.A. general-purpose software application, namely online dictionaries internet engines, lower than average them specific-purpose software, such as FTP MUDs. Furthermore, chi-square test (X²) run see whether there significant relationship between each type participants. illustrated that relationships some applications, web browsers, encyclopedia, IRC, MUDs, were significant; whereas, not other types students. This includes marketplaces, forums, email, instant messaging, video chat, discussion mailing lists, talkers, FTP.
